Cooking Instructions for Farm-Fresh Corned Beef

Our farm-fresh corned beef brisket isn’t like the grocery store version—it’s never water-injected, meaning it cooks faster and retains its rich, natural flavor without excessive shrinkage. Follow these simple steps for a perfectly tender, flavorful corned beef every time!

🥩 Ingredients:

  • 1 farm-fresh corned beef brisket (2-17 lbs)
  • Water or beef broth
  • 1 onion, quartered (optional)
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, smashed (optional)
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • Additional vegetables (cabbage, carrots, potatoes) – optional

🍲 Cooking Methods:

🫕 Stovetop (Traditional Method)

1️⃣ Place the brisket in a large pot and cover with water or beef broth. Add onion, garlic, bay leaves, and peppercorns for extra flavor.
2️⃣ Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 30-40 minutes per pound until fork-tender. (Check earlier than you would with store-bought corned beef—it cooks faster!)
3️⃣ Add vegetables (if using) during the last 30-40 minutes of cooking.
4️⃣ Remove brisket and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain for the most tender texture.

💨 Instant Pot (Pressure Cooker) – Fast & Flavorful!

1️⃣ Place brisket in the Instant Pot with 4 cups of water or beef broth, along with onion, garlic, bay leaves, and peppercorns.
2️⃣ Seal and cook on High Pressure for 70-90 minutes (depending on size). Quick-release pressure.
3️⃣ Add cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. Seal again and cook on High for 4-5 minutes with a quick release.
4️⃣ Rest, slice against the grain, and enjoy!

🔥 Slow Cooker (Set It & Forget It!)

1️⃣ Place brisket in the slow cooker, add water or broth, and seasonings.
2️⃣ Cook on Low for 6-8 hours (check for tenderness sooner than expected).
3️⃣ Add vegetables in the last 2 hours of cooking.
4️⃣ Rest, slice, and serve!

⚠️ Farm-Fresh Cooking Warning!

Because our corned beef hasn’t been water-injected, it cooks faster than store-bought briskets. Check for tenderness earlier than recipes typically recommend! A fork should easily slide in and out when it’s ready.
